“You are the average of the five people you spend most of your time with!”
Do you agree with this statement?
The first time I heard this, I was shocked.
‘What?’ I heard myself shouting in my head.
At the time, I spent a lot of my days with certain people that, although I enjoyed spending time with, weren’t exactly the type of people I aspired to be.
Like a knee-jerk reaction, I instantly ran through all the people in my head.
I mentally summarised their positive and negative influences on me. And whether, indeed, I was the average of their traits and qualities.
And the result?
It was not good!
Because, as painful as it was to admit to myself, there were many common traits in them that I saw in myself.
They weren’t harmful traits, but they weren’t the traits that propelled me to be a better version of myself.
And they weren’t qualities that helped me raise my vibration so that the Universe couldn’t wait to shower me with positivity and beauty.
That is when my plan to recognise, ameliorate, and eliminate started.
It is easy to start the plan, but the difficulty lies in recognising the unhelpful traits and qualities in the first place.

Is there something specific you need, Sanwar? 🙂
I have a new computer that doesn’t have back lighting and i’m realizing how much i rely on seeing the keys and now am realizing i had typing in high school and learned how to type with out looking, my life is very much the same way, I’ve forgotten most of what I learned and now I am just on auto float….For many years now I have realized that everything is vibration and it is up to me to be what i need to be and what i want to be….???… but how can i be something that is other than me…We all change from day to day, month to month, change our outward presantation be the core is what we all work from and that changes little or little steps most of the time………I, i move along and enjoy everything and try to learn as much as i can about everything……And so on and so forth……respectfully jerry
Simply align your vibrations to what you want to achieve, Jerry 🙂
Average what? Positive/negative personality traits? Amount of how “good” they are? How “Bad”? How many times did they shower? Is it how much they complain? How much they are in need? I am left confused by the statement that I am the average. Because if I am a person who spends a lot of my time with people who need a helping hand, say the hungry or homeless, are you saying that I am in need of the same kind of help? See I do not have 5 friends. I have a cat, a son, and a boyfriend. So what exactly does that say about me?
Hello Rae, if you could read over the content again to gain a better understanding of what the “average” is all about? 🙂 Also, you might want to click on the links, too! Thank you 🙂
