May is packed full of intense cosmic energy.

We are heading toward the Full Moon in Scorpio which is also a rare Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse on May 15th / 16th.

A Total Lunar Eclipse or Blood Moon Eclipse always falls on a Full Moon and is the most powerful lunar energy we can experience.

Seeing as this Blood Moon Eclipse comes soon after the New Moon Solar Eclipse at the end of April, we are truly in the midst of potent Eclipse Energy.

You know how powerful a Full Moon can be.

Well, imagine the strength of that multiplied a thousand times!

What is a Lunar Eclipse?

A Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Earth lines up between the Moon and the Sun, hiding the Moon from sunlight.

The Earth’s shadow falls across the face of the Moon instead.

The reason it is known as a Blood Moon is that the only light reaching the surface of the Moon comes from the edges of the Earth’s atmosphere.

The light that reflects onto the Moon has a red glow, giving the Moon its name, Blood Moon as it appears red in the night sky.

In spiritual and emotional terms, a Total Lunar Eclipse is a reset of a cycle, a culmination, and a symbol of endings, completion, and closure.

The shadow of the eclipse reveals whatever we have been hiding in our subconscious.

Those obstacles that block us from stepping into our highest paths.

Just like Full Moons represent our deepest emotions and a time to let go of and release things that are no longer aligned with us, Lunar Eclipses encourage us to purge and clear all that is holding us back.

The great news is the potent energy of this particular Eclipse season is lasting us all through Spring and in fact into the Summer.

If you act now on this energy, you can see some amazing changes in your life as the year rolls on.

There is much potential for change if you are taking positive action AND if you are willing to look at what must be released from your life.

When we hear that an Eclipse can trigger endings, we can understandably get anxious about what that may look like for us.

I’m here to tell you not to worry!

While it is true that all this strong, Eclipse energy is guiding us to close the door in an area of our lives, that is not necessarily a bad thing.

Eclipses open our eyes to things that need to be let go of in order for us to step into our highest path.

This might signify the endings of relationships, work contracts, friendships, or even moving to a new place BUT it can also mean the ending of a way of being, thinking, or behaving.

An Eclipse is not going to remove something beneficial for you from your life.

So any endings you experience will actually be the Universe doing you a huge favor, removing toxic situations from your life!

All this strong energy will bring you the courage you need to step out of your comfort zone and more fully into your highest self.

Trust the direction that you are being shown, as Eclipses always bring you back to what is best for you and your highest path.

Of course growth and evolution can be challenging, so while change is uncomfortable and can trigger a fear of the unknown, this discomfort is totally natural.

The more grounded, calm, and connected you are to this energy, the easier it will be for you to remain centered during any chaotic moments.

I’ve put together some tools and techniques to help you navigate this emotional time!

Process it on the Page

I’m a big fan of journaling at the best of times.

This Eclipse season could have you feeling emotional, nostalgic, or deeply aware of the impermanence of life.

Feel your emotions and allow them to pass through you and be transmuted.

A great way to do this is to write down whatever you are feeling sad about.

It’s such a great exercise to get into the habit of daily.

You’re not writing a novel here, nobody is going to read it!

Just get down your thoughts and purge any stuck or stagnant energy by releasing it all onto the pages of your journal.

Release Energy in Water

As you are working through any challenges or tough decisions, releasing energy is vital.

You do not want negative energy to remain stored in your body, which can cause emotional and physical issues down the line.

As you are processing your feelings and going deep into healing work, find relief by bathing in water.

Whether it’s fresh water, the ocean, or a long bath or shower, the purifying, cleansing, and healing effect of water on your emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical body are immense.

Ground and Center in Nature

Connecting to Mother Earth never fails to rejuvenate and nourish me in times of difficulty or heaviness.

If you are feeling confused or unsure about decisions you may need to make, or simply feeling a little burnt out you may feel the need to be quiet and reconnect with your energy.

The Eclipse can make us want to retreat and be still and alone, and that is a good thing.

Conserving your energy is important.

When you reflect and become quiet, you may experience awakenings and deeper realizations about your life that are necessary for you to move forward.

Walking in nature, being by trees or flowers and plants, or hearing the waves of the ocean or the babble of a brook can be so energizing and soothing to your soul.

Spiritual Self-Care

Take time every day to do something that nourishes your spirit.

It could be lighting your favorite candles and switching off your phone for an hour.

Taking an indulgent bath with rose petals and essential oils.

Going for a run or dancing with your friends.

Don’t neglect yourself, in fact, make your emotional self a priority every single day.

This will always be unique to you, so don’t put limitations on what you do.

The most precious way to spend this time is really connecting with your inner self.

Protect yourself from negativity and toxicity.

Put your physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being first and you will sail through any bumps in the road with ease.

Wishing you all a bright and beautiful Eclipse season.
