Have you ever considered that the main thing standing between you and your manifestations is your own negative thinking?

I know I’ve talked about this countless times, but the BELIEF that you can have what you desire is KEY to successful manifesting.

The problem is for most of us, it’s challenging to believe something that we don’t yet have.

We are so used to feeling the opposite of abundance, we cannot just change our minds overnight!

A lifetime of emotional baggage, trauma, abandonment, and feelings of low self-worth can make it even harder to change the way you think.

Our brains literally get used to the familiar feelings of negativity and worrying and it becomes an automatic, almost robotic response.

You’re not alone.

The majority of people have trouble breaking the habit of negative thinking.

Creating an abundance mindset is something that takes effort at first, but once you master your own mind, you can truly step into an abundant life.

It’s worth remembering that you and only you have the power to direct your energy.

If you don’t feel like you have control over your mind, now is the time to gain mastery over your thoughts.

No one else is going to do it for you! So what are you waiting for?

Here are my Six Top Tips for changing your negative thinking around.

1. Change Negative Statements to Positive ones.

Our brains are incredible.

Conscious mind repetition can actually change the pattern of your neural pathways.

So if you have consistently talked to yourself negatively, i.e saying things like “I am always going to be poor” “I am not lovable” or “I’m so fat”.

You have taught your subconscious mind to treat those statements as beliefs.

The function of our subconscious mind is to bring about whatever is programmed into it.

So whether the belief is positive or negative, doesn’t matter.

It projects that thought out into the universe.

You have to stop yourself in the moment from repeating negative self-talk and consciously say ‘stop’ in your mind.

Then reprogram those statements to positive ones.

For example, instead of saying “I am always going to be poor”, you could say “I have access to the abundance of the Universe, I just have to learn to tune into it”.

Instead of saying “I am so fat”, say “I am empowered to take control of my health”.

The more you choose a new statement, the easier it is, and the more it feels natural!

2. Throw Them in a Box.

When you feel a negative rant coming on in your mind, stop and imagine an enormous box.

Empty out your mind into the box.

Imagine it filled to the brim with all of your anxieties, fears, worries, emotions, people who are bothering you – whatever it is.

Throw it into the box and shut the lid. Walk away from the box.

This acts as a reminder that you and only you have control over where your energy goes.

3. Use STOP Signs.

You can use STOP signs as visual clues to check in with your thinking.

We have them all around us in the world, on the roads and streets.

Every time you see one when you are out in your car or walking around, tell yourself that it’s a reminder to stop thinking about your lack/bills/weight problem, etc., and focus instead on gratitude for what you do have.

When you do this you are training your brain to change its usual habits of negative thinking.

4. Write it Down and Throw it Away

This is so simple and you can do it anywhere and anytime.

Just write down any negative fears, nagging thoughts, anxieties, or feelings of lack on a piece of paper and throw it away.

You can say ‘this fear has no power over me’, as you throw it out.

Remember that you have the power to direct your energy at any given moment.

Any worrying that you do serves no positive purpose for your life.

It is literally wasted energy.

The best way to deal with worrying is to put those worries in perspective and throw them away.

5. Ask your Higher Self or Guides to Help

Whenever you feel scared or anxious ask your own higher self or your spiritual guides for help to heal your mind and remove the negative thoughts and feelings.

You may feel strange doing this, but I highly recommend you work through any feelings of silliness.

Just ask your mind for guidance and surrender to any thoughts or feelings that come up.

What you are doing when you ask for help in this way is you are actually making a statement that you are willing and ready to let go of negative thoughts.

Even the act of asking your higher self and guides for help is a form of release that will serve you.

6. Rubber Band Technique

My grandmother taught me this good old-fashioned technique to stop me from biting my nails!

Keep a rubber band around your wrist and every time you feel yourself worrying or having a negative thought you snap the band.

This jolts you out of your automatic, unconscious state of mind and tells you to make another choice!

BONUS TIP — Try to witness your negative thinking in a non-judgemental way.

Meditation is a wonderful practice to help with this.

When you step out of your ego and all its judgments, you start to embody a more spiritual, soulful way of living.

You are able to see that you and only you have the power to change your mind but it’s much easier to do when you are not beating yourself up over it.

The ego thrives on fearful thoughts of guilt and shame.

The soul part of you is pure love and acceptance.

When you allow the soul part of you to lead over your ego, you will begin to change the way you think with ease.
