Do you have freedom in your life?
Freedom is doing what you want and when you want it. It is taking actions that work for yourself.
You have to understand that you won’t find the freedom that you want by doing what everyone else is doing. In fact, you don’t have to spend your life always chasing goals that society tells you.
Having freedom will allow you to pursue what’s really important for you. It will allow you to experience the wonderful things that this world has to offer. Freedom will help you become the person you were meant to be and build a life that you enjoy.
After all, we only have one life.
Here are some ways to help you get started in reclaiming freedom in your life:
Get To Know Who You Are… Again
When was the last time you sat down and reflect on who you are? How many times have you caught yourself at loss for words when someone asks you, “Tell me who you are.”
The reality is, we don’t really set aside time to know who we are when it’s essential to live a life of freedom.
I’m not going to deny that it’s not hard, and it can also be painful. But trust me when I say, it’s worth it.
By getting to know who you are, you will be able to identify where your happiness lies. Take that risk, because the pain and discomfort that might stem from this will help you make the most out of your life.
Break Down Your Barriers
You have excuses and self-imposed limitations. We all do.
Now is the time to tear them down. Again, another difficult to step because we are convinced that a lot of things we tell ourselves are actually TRUE when if you really examine them, most of them are just excuses.
Go through this thought experiment and allow yourself to realize what would really make you happy. In order to do that, you need to break down the barriers. Take a huge step back and free yourself from the daily tasks that take up so much of your life.
By doing so, you’ll be able to see the entirety of your life and be an impartial bystander.
Build Your Reality
At this point, you have torn down your limiting beliefs. So, what happens now?
You may find this place scary because almost everything that you have grown used to are no longer in your life. It’s easy to feel lost and have no idea on what to do next.
Before you crumble, this is the time when you dig deep and start building a different reality for yourself. This time, with purposeful action.
It is this time when you have the right reasons when you ask yourself why you’re doing something. You will slowly fill your life with meaningful things that will satisfy you and allow you to achieve things that will make you happy.
Don’t Be Afraid To Make Big Decisions
I know, easier said than done, but it’s one of the best ways to live your life as freely as possible. A lot of people are miserable because they choose comfort over their happiness. They live within their comfort zones, unchanging for years, and just letting things be the way they are because they’re familiar and comfortable.
Changing your life is a big decision, despite some minor changes. There’s nothing wrong with making big decisions. In fact, it’s not scary at all. What is scary is the way we think of the negative outcome. We believe that when a big decision doesn’t work out, then we’re screwed.
It leaves us to neglect the possibility of what if it does go well? And if it doesn’t, there are other options to explore to live the life that we want.
To make big decisions, don’t forget the best things that could happen and the other things that you can do if it doesn’t. From there, you’ll be able to make significant changes in your life.
No matter what happens, you can’t control it, but you can control how you react to it. Controlling what happens outside you is a total waste of time, and trust me, you’ll only end up disappointed.
What you should do is to use the time to prepare yourself to make decisions when good or bad things happen to you.
Don’t do nothing. Do anything that can help you gain the freedom that you want and start living a life that you truly want.
