What is Manifesting?

Manifesting has become a popular topic. It refers to your innate ability to manifest anything into your life that you wish. Many people simply dismiss the concept out of hand as New Age nonsense. Many of these same people have tried manifesting and have been disappointed.

The innate power of manifesting is within us. We merely have to apply it correctly. One of the major reasons some people are unsuccessful at manifesting is that their minds remain filled with limiting beliefs. The power of manifesting depends on an old adage: our thoughts control our actions. When we think negative thoughts – I can’t do this … I am too stupid … I wasn’t meant to be successful … the universe hears us and acts accordingly. It takes us at our word.

A positive mindset is a mind that switches from “I can’t” to “I can.” This positivity can change everything in your life.

We Are What We Focus On

If you focus on the things that you don’t want, that is what you will manifest more of. Not because the universe isn’t cooperating, but because it is. For example, imagine you are lonely and looking for love. Instead of focusing on all your positive characteristics, you keep telling yourself that you will never find someone. You find yourself acting in ways that emphasize your negative thoughts – you avoid social gatherings, you assume members of the opposite gender have it in for you, etc. You are so focused on why you shouldn’t find love, you make the lack of love happen. That is how the laws of attraction work. We receive from the universe to the exact extent that we focus on something. Sometimes, we just focus on the wrong thing.

Our thoughts are powerful tools. We merely need to know how to use them.

Limiting Beliefs Are A Pattern

Does this sound familiar? You notice difficulties in your life, perhaps with relationships, jobs, finances, etc., and you tell yourself that next time, things will be difficult. Next time, you will do better. However, the same pattern of negativity keeps repeating itself.

You plan on improving your lifestyle with exercise and a better diet. You’ll start this on Monday. Come Monday, however, you tell yourself you don’t have the time, you can’t afford healthier food – there are no limits to the excuses to remaining stuck in a negative rut. You are repeating the same behavior over and over again.

Limiting beliefs can go back to childhood, when perhaps you were told you wouldn’t accomplish much. That may have been years ago, but the words are still there. They are still controlling your life. Every time you tell yourself, “I’m not good enough,” “Why bother trying,” you are underscoring your limiting beliefs. You are honoring old voices that no longer exist.

Your thoughts are telling you that you aren’t athletic, so why bother? Besides, you were born with no willpower, so it’s not really your fault. You play it safe and don’t even try. You act in ways – make up excuses – to ensure that your limiting beliefs control your actions. Why is it so difficult to get out of this pattern and into a more positive pattern? Because you’ve had these beliefs for a long time. They seem more real to you than the truth, which is that you can do anything you set your mind to. Limiting beliefs are, in effect, your comfort zone.

To manifest what you want and create the life you want, you need to leave your comfort zone.

Change Your Limiting Beliefs and Manifest Your Dream Life

1. Don’t blame yourself for your limiting beliefs. That is just adding more negativity to your life. Accept yourself as you are. Tell yourself you are ready to change and grow.
2. Visualize the results that you want. For example, if you are looking for love, sit down and visualize yourself manifesting the perfect mate. Make it as real as you can. The more you visualize, the more real the manifestation will be. Your negative thoughts will diminish in power.
3. Write down your limiting belief – I’ll never find love – and then note the reasons why that is wrong. Note that you are attractive, intelligent, and kind. You deserve to have love in your life. Again, the more you do that, the less powerful your limiting beliefs will be.
4. Realistically, negative beliefs will pop up at times. Diminish their power by countering with a positive thought. If you find yourself thinking, “I’m too fat,” counter with, “I am just fine, and if I need to lose weight, I will do so.”

Practice Self Care and Feel More Positive

Does self-care sound vain to you? Talk about a limiting belief! Taking care of yourself is one of the most positive things you can do. Self-care is telling yourself, and the universe, that you deserve to feel good. You are deserving of having good things happen to you. This will enhance your self-esteem and silence your inner, negative critic.

Self-care can involve small things that add so much to your life. Stroll through a park and smell the flowers and grass. Listen to inspiring music. Enjoy a massage. Surround yourself with positive people who have achieved what you are trying to achieve. Take a class in a subject that interests you. Self-care is all about feeling better and allowing positivity to flow through you like a gentle breeze.

Manifesting – Doing It Right

If you are having difficulty in manifesting what you want from the universe, here is a suggestion. Imagine Amazon is the universe. You find exactly what you want and are ready to order.

Do you linger and tell yourself Amazon probably doesn’t have the sweater in your size, and the sweater might not even look good on you, and besides, you have no place to wear a new sweater? It is doubtful that Amazon will prove cooperative with your order. Instead, be clear about what you want and know that you deserve it. Click on the exact size, color, and design you like. Then hit order.

When you manifest, it’s like ordering from Amazon. Know what you want and don’t hesitate and be stopped by negative thoughts. Go after your desire and send that order out to the universe. And watch it turn into reality.
