Are you dealing with new changes in your life? As they say, the only thing that’s constant in this world is change. With that, it only means that no matter how much you dodge change or resist it, at some point, things will change and you will have no choice but to face it.

This month, it’s all about shedding the old and welcoming new things. These are things that may not feel or pleasant at first, but something that must be done.

There are plenty of reasons why a lot of people have a problem making or adjusting to changes. For one, as much as you hear the word change a lot of times, it is truly an “unpopular” word that most people don’t want to associate themselves with. Resistance to change is a universal mentality, which invites dislike and tension.

Another reason is that most of us have a fear of the unknown. We resist what we cannot calculate or know the outcome for. Last but not least, it scares most of us to venture outside our comfort zones.

In this post, I’ll share with you some things that can help you adjust to the new changes in your life:

1. Find Humor In It

You can’t go wrong with a good sense of humor. Trust me—when the changes seem unbearable or every nerve in your body resists it, but as mentioned, it’s something that must be done, find a funny moment in it. This is an effective way to create the levity you need to vex a problem from a new perspective. Humor can also lighten your mood and improve social interaction.

2. Change Your Mindset

Admit it, you love your comfort zone and there’s nothing wrong with that. It becomes somewhat of a problem when you’re too attached to it that it’s holding you back from growth. To tell you the truth, this is normal reaction because the subconscious likes the familiar.

However, there will come a time when you need to step out of your comfort zone to embrace a new life—or something much better that will make you have a better life. It involves stepping into the unknown but be prepared for the resistance that comes with it. Remember that change is a disruptor and it will feel uncomfortable and scary, even if it’s a good thing.

What will make significance here is the power of your mind. Adopt a positive mindset that will help you become more resilient in dealing with the impact that change will bring into your life.

3. Make A List Of Things That You’re Scared To Do, And Do Them Anyway

Change is scary because it will make you step out of your comfort zone into something new. Train your subconscious by stepping out of your comfort zone and doing scary things. Train it so hard that it will believe that stepping out of that zone and doing what scares you is a normal thing to do and see what happens.

Make it better by writing down the things you’re scared to do and do them one by one. It can be as simple as spending more time alone in public. Write them all down as this is the first step of allowing and embracing change in your life.

We all want to live a successful and happy life. To get there, we need to be proactive about how we adjust to the changes in our lives. Keep in mind that denying or resisting change will only result in misery. Therefore, be adaptable, resilient, and bold.

Let yourself flow with the changing times. It’s okay to be scared, but don’t let it rule your life.

Embrace the changes and watch it make your life ten times better.
