Thanksgiving may be over but don’t let that stop the flow of gratitude!
It’s beautiful to bring focus to gratitude during what is a happy holiday season for many people around the world, but gratitude should never be limited to special days and celebrations.
Gratitude is one of the most crucial aspects of manifesting.
A truly essential part of what makes the difference between just thinking about the life you desire, and actually living it.
I’m sure you’ve heard it before, maybe you’re even bored of hearing it – but gratitude really has endless benefits on your quality of life.
Cultivating gratitude is free, can be done in a matter of minutes and can literally change your reality. Even so, it’s easy to overlook gratitude as a tool.
Maybe you’re one of those people who thinks about doing a gratitude journal, but never actually does it.
Or perhaps you started with the best of intentions, but then you stopped – life just gets in the way, right?
Whatever your reasons are for not working in gratitude to your daily life (and you’re not alone), I’m here to show you HOW to practice gratitude all the time, with very little effort!
One of the most important things to clarify right off the bat is this:
There is a difference between being grateful for things in your life, and being satisfied.
You can be grateful for the roof over your head, the food on your table, your health, your loved ones, your job etc AND still desire MORE. It’s ok.
There’s a huge difference between acknowledging your blessings, and not feeling as though you desire more.
I think many people get confused with that.
“Will the Universe decide I am all set and never give me any more in my life if I say I am grateful for what I have?”
No! You can be grateful, and still desire to align with more and more abundance, happiness, peace, health, and joy.
Ok, let’s dive into some easy ways to practice gratitude every single day.
1. Begin each day with the high energy of gratitude.
If you start off your morning in this frequency, you are designing the rest of your day right.
All you have to do is practice making gratitude your first thought when you wake up.
Find at least one thing to be grateful for as you begin your morning routine, whether it’s the person lying next to you, your kids, your pets, the sun shining – another day!
Just find one thing and practice doing that every single morning.
Focusing your mind in this way is a muscle, after a while, you will return to it automatically.
2. Say Thank You internally all throughout the day.
Say it all day long, to everyone and everything in your mind. It might seem crazy, but this is based on the Hawaiian practice of Ho’oponopono – an energy clearing technique that cleans and releases situations from negativity.
You don’t even have to know exactly what you are saying thank you about, just say it.
Say it as you stand in the check-out line at the grocery store, or when you are stuck in traffic.
Send it to all situations and to everyone and everything you encounter.
If you forget, don’t worry, as soon as you remember, start again.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
You will begin to literally exude the energetic vibration of gratitude when you do this.
3. Be grateful for specific things.
When you take stock of what you are grateful for, try to get really specific.
It helps to highlight the details of our lives, rather than making big, vague statements that don’t resonate with our hearts and souls.
So, instead of just saying, “I am grateful for my dog.”
Say, “I am grateful for the sweet and loyal way my dog greets me every time I arrive home. I love his furry paws and his big brown eyes.”
Don’t say, “I am grateful for my family.”
Say, “I am grateful for my kids and their happiness and creativity.
For the way they wake me up in the morning, and the cute things they tell me about their day.”
The bonus here is that as you search for the specifics, you expand your gratitude!
4. Ask other people what they are grateful for.
This is a great way to bring gratitude into your conversations with others too.
You can ask people to tell you what was a highlight of their day.
What are they appreciative of specifically?
It helps to bond you with those you are talking to and gets everyone focused on a higher frequency emotion.
Start tonight at your dinner table, or tomorrow at breakfast, or in the coffee room at work.
5. Practice meaningful interactions with everyone.
It’s so easy for us to just steam through life on autopilot.
How many times have you said thank you to the barista handing you your coffee, or the cashier passing you a receipt without actually making eye contact?
Think about it.
It’s a few seconds of your life, and you can connect with another human being and transfer positive energy to them.
Try saying thank you and meaning it in a sincere way the next time you have an interaction.
Make it almost awkward! Make gratitude fashionable!
Finally, remember that YOU have the power to automatically shift your own frequency by practicing gratitude.
You can literally magnify your positive experiences by being grateful every day.
When you focus on your dreams and not your frustrations, you are magnetizing positivity into your life.
When you realize that energy is actually part of the physical Universe and that thoughts and feelings are really manifesting things to you – I’m certain that you won’t have time to forget to be grateful!
In fact, you’ll make it a priority.
I’ll leave you with this affirmation in conclusion.
My grateful heart is a magnet for miracles.
