The Full Moon is a time for self-reflection.

We may be called upon by the energy of this powerful celestial body, which will peak on September 10th, to release what’s holding us back from exploring all that life has offered – whether it means leaving behind something old or starting anew with an open mind!

There is something about this harvest moon and it is giving us a unique energy that we can use for ourselves.

But before we dive into the rituals…

Why is it called a Harvest Moon?

The harvest moon is the one that occurs closest to the autumnal equinox, which will take place on September 22 and marks the beginning of fall as the sun crosses the celestial equator from north to south.

The harvest moon got its name because it rises early in the evenings, giving farmers extra time to harvest their summer crops, according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac.

A Time for Harvest

Similar to the way the moon gives way for farmers to have extra time to tend to their crops, this full moon is a time for harvest for us all.

It is a time to plant our seeds of intention and allow our manifestations to grow for the next few days.

The day before the full moon, you can set aside time for a simple meditation.

This meditation calls out to the moon’s energy so that you may align your vibration with it before the actual ritual during the day of the full moon.

Here’s a simple meditation you can try. What you’ll need:

1. Candle

2. Soft Music

  • Choose a place where you can sit down comfortably.
  • Place the candle near you and light it.
  • Turn on the music in the background to set the mood.
  • Close your eyes and think about what you want to manifest. Envision it clearly in your mind.
  • Imagine what you want and let it raise your vibration.
  • Feel yourself being surrounded by positivity.
  • Turn your palms raised to the sky, as if receiving the blessings from the Divine.
  • Open your eyes and put both palms on your chest

When you do this, you are allowing the Universe to come into your life and bring in what you desire.

Now, onto the ritual itself. You will need:

  1. Clean water
  2. A bowl
  3. Rock salt
  4. Essential oil
  5. Flower petals you love

You will do this ritual during the full moon.

The first thing you have to do is prepare yourself and cleanse your energy and the energy around you. Say this affirmation out loud:

“My aura is ready. My space is cleansed. I accept the light within.”

Next, place all of your ingredients in one place – perhaps on a table in front of you.

Take your bowl and pour the water into it. Now, sprinkle some salt.

As you do that, recite this:

“As each salt falls into the water, this is a symbol of me letting go of all everything that no longer serves me. I am free from what binds me and I am ready to start anew.”

Get your flower petals and drop them one by one in the bowl while saying this:

“I welcome the beauty of the world around me. I appreciate and I am thankful for all the blessings the Divine has given me. My heart is full.”

Now for the essential oil, this is for your energy. Put drops of oil in the water while saying:

“May this sacred oil bring harmony into my mind, body, and soul. May it cleanse my energy and give me a sense of lightness in my intentions.”

You are done. How did this ritual make you feel?
