This September 22nd we will experience a big shift in energy with the Fall Equinox.
The Equinox is when the hours of light and dark are the same, the sun passes the equator moving from the northern to the southern hemisphere.
It occurs on September 22nd, when fall begins for those in the Northern Hemisphere, and spring commences for those in the Southern Hemisphere.
This shift in seasons in certain countries signifies the changing energy also reflected by our planet.
In the Northern Hemisphere, we watch the leaves falling from the trees and Mother Nature urges us to be still and look within, as she slows down. In the Southern Hemisphere, the energy is moving outwards, urging us to be creative, just as the flowers bloom and the fertility returns to the Earth.
The Equinox traditionally is a time when light and dark come into balance and there is very little separation between dimensions. This makes it a pertinent time to tap into your intuition and wisdom and to be aware of your psychic abilities. Third eye activations can happen easily during this time.
My Experience with the Equinox Energy
I have always seen the equinox as the perfect time to focus on coming into balance myself and connecting strongly to the natural rhythms of the earth.
I remember many years ago on the morning of the equinox I set my alarm to watch the sunrise and just listen to the energy and feel what it wanted me to know at that moment.
As I meditated, the answer I received was about connecting to nature and returning my body, spirit and mind to a state of harmony. I have taken that message with me each year during this seasonal change.
Think how strange it is that we don’t live in rhythm with the natural cycles of the earth anymore.
Most of us are far more attuned to the pace and speed of the Internet than the powerful stillness of trees or the gentle flowing of a river. Yet we are part of this earth just as much as a flower, a tree or a river. It makes no sense to me that we spend our lives so detached from nature.
My suggestion for you this equinox is to meditate on what it might mean for you. It’s such a personal thing, and taking some time to go within, be still and focus on what the mystical energy wants you to see, know and feel for your own spiritual growth is essential.
Here are some of my tips for harnessing the energy of the equinox:
Seek Balance
Ask yourself the following questions:
- Am I pursuing work that really brings me joy?
- Am I spending time with people who light me up?
- Do I appreciate my environment and make the most of time in nature?
- Do I feel too busy to take time for quiet meditation?
Think about how you can bring more balance to your life, and do something today to work towards that. Whether it’s a walk in the forest, a trip to buy fresh vegetables in the farmers market or taking a moment to gaze at the stars before you go to sleep.
Embrace Impermanence
I used to find the energy of Fall a little melancholy, as the leaves turn color and fall to the ground, I would feel sorrow for the trees left behind with bare branches. Then I realized the beauty of this kind of change and transformation. Everything in life is impermanent and beauty lies in each moment you observe in your present experience.
When I see those leaves falling now, I find inspiration in letting go of what’s ready to go in my own life. I encourage you to do the same.
Release what is no longer serving your growth at this moment, and know that in that release comes the opportunity for new experiences.
If you are experiencing the beginnings of Spring where you are, you might feel a different energy. One of the new beginnings and blossoming ideas. You can take this time to connect to what that means for you creatively and spiritually.
Dig Deep and Listen
Trust yourself to know what’s right for you. Use the spiritual power of the equinox to listen to your intuition through meditation, yoga, quiet walking in nature or taking part in some creative work such as painting or playing music.
Listen to the earth and what she wants you to know.
Remember that passing time and reaching goals and logging achievements are not the be-all and end-all of our lives.
What truly matters is that we appreciate each moment we are alive, and I have found that whenever I return to harmony with nature, this comes to me as easily as breathing.
It’s much easier to hear what your inner self wants you to know when you can be quiet and move in sync with the natural rhythms of the earth.
Wishing you all a very happy, healthy and harmonious equinox, wherever you are in the world.
It really inspired me, from now on I’m going to start befriend the nature, it so sad that we think that other things don’t matter but we are the one who doesn’t think of everything that matters to us. Thanks
That’s true, Rathokolo. Stay safe when you’re out, though!
