Have you ever heard someone meditate 🧘 on an OM/AUM sound?
One gorgeous summer ☀️ day a few years ago, I was walking through a nearby park and I heard an unusual sound.
It reminded me of a loud hum 🎵.
“Where is that coming from?” I wondered.
I began walking toward the sound and it grew louder as I walked closer.
I saw a large group of people in a circle holding hands.
Some had their eyes closed, but the ones with their eyes open smiled 😊 at me as I approached.
I sat down on the grass in the shade of an old oak tree 🌳 about 50 feet away and watched them until they were done making this unusual sound that drew me like a magnet 🧲.
I HAD to know what it was!
After they stopped making the mysterious sound 🎵, they all sat down and were silent for quite a while.
When they were done, they stood up and began talking to each other.
Then a beautiful young woman in a long flowing dress walked over from the group and sat next to me under the tree 🌳.
She told me her name was Sophia 👩 and that they were a group of friends who got together once a week to meditate 🧘 and then play music and have a potluck picnic.
And she invited me to join them.
I told her my name and said I would love to, but first I REALLY wanted to know more about the sound they were making!
As we walked slowly toward the rest of the group, she explained that it was an ancient Sanskrit sound called AUM or OM.
And she showed me a beautiful pendant 📿 around her neck with the symbol for the sound.
It had a lovely green gemstone 💎 beneath the symbol.
Sophia explained that she wore the pendant to remind her to practice the OM/AUM sound during the day.
Whenever she would see it or notice it brushing against her skin, it helped her remember to meditate 🧘 on the symbol and the sound 🎵.
I was fascinated 🤩!
I wanted to know more ☝️!
“What does it mean 🤔?”
“Where did it come from 🤔?”
“Why meditate on that particular sound and symbol 🤔?”
“Slow down!” she laughed! “I’ll answer all your questions.”
Sophia explained that the OM/AUM sound 🎵 comes from Tibetan Buddhism and Hinduism and is known to be the most sacred mantra in existence.
“Most Sanskrit prayers 🙏, mantras, and texts begin or end with OM.
Om om Padme Mani Hum is one example, but there are many,” she continued.
She explained that OM is a very sacred sound 🎵 and is the primal frequency of the Universe 🌌 itself!
She said the reason they gather each week to meditate on the OM sound 🎵 is that it increases the effectiveness of our ability to manifest our dreams into reality because it connects us with the exact frequency ⚡ of the Divine.
What she said next made my jaw drop…
“Om is the sound 🎵 that created physical reality in the first place at the very beginning of everything!”
After the potluck 🍲 was over, I went home with a feeling of peace 🕊️ and a deep longing to know more about this powerful and mysterious sound 🎵.
So I began searching online 💻 for more information. And what I learned was astonishing!
In Sanskrit, the OM sound is spelled AUM. The “A” and “U” sounds combine to create the same sound as “O” does.
And apparently, when many people begin meditating 🧘🧘♂️🧘🏽♀️ with the OM sound, they make the sound out loud.
But then after a while, they simply focus on the vibration of the sound without actually making the sound itself.
And that is even more powerful because it connects with more subtle energies ⚡ and stills the mind.
I discovered that the power of OM/AUM is increased when you focus your attention on your crown chakra or third eye 👁️ chakra.
I also found out that looking at and meditating on the OM symbol can help calm and steady the mind even when you don’t vocalize or focus on the sound 🎵.
But looking at the symbol while also focusing on the sound 🎵 is incredibly powerful 💪!
I started doing this combo of focusing on the symbol and sound while also visualizing what that I really want to manifest in my life.
And the results have been mind-blowing 🤩!
I’ve been seeing my dreams show up in my life a lot more quickly than when I only practiced visualization 🧘🏻 by itself.
I’m incredibly grateful that I chose to take a walk in the park on that day which enabled me to discover this powerful OM/AUM ancient meditation 🧘🏻 technique.
It changed my life! I hope it can change yours too!
I now wear an OM/AUM pendant 📿 with a beautiful green stone every day that is very similar to the one Sophia was wearing.
It reminds me of that miraculous 🙌 day that shifted my life.
And it reminds me to meditate on the OM/AUM symbol and sound 🎵 just like it did for Sophia.
