I’ve always loved the practice of all kinds of rituals.
From the ritual of making coffee or tea, rolling out my yoga mat, and lighting a candle,
to the ritual of burning a list of things I wish to release on the Full Moon or saging my house to get rid of bad energy.
There is something sacred, ancient, and eternally wise about practicing rituals.
Don’t you agree?
I’d love to hear your thoughts and all about your favorite rituals.
Reply to me.
Today I want to share with you some ideas for mini cleansing rituals
that can be incorporated into your daily life in a way that feels holy and special to you.
I hope that these rituals will help you to feel just a little bit sacred and wise every single day.
I know that they will greatly enhance your ability to feel grounded, centered, and calm.
And that is the kind of stable, powerful foundation you need for everything else in your life to flourish and thrive.
When you have a grounded base to start from, everything else you do happens effortlessly, and with ease.
Rituals for Body
- Begin your day with a drink of warm lemon water.
- This will detoxify your liver and kidneys, and also kickstart your digestion.
- Begin every morning with some gentle stretches, yoga or tai chi.
- Use this time to drop into your physical body and make the intention to really be present in your body.
- This is so important! Instead of just rushing off into your day, you actually take the time to feel how it feels to be alive today first.
- Practice dry brushing with a loofah or dry brush before your shower.
- This practice helps to stimulate your lymphatic system and also encourages detoxification by shedding dead skin cells.
- Get out into the morning sunlight and soak up some rays.
- You will get a beneficial dose of natural vitamin D, essential for your immune system and overall wellness.
Rituals for Mind
- Bring yourself to a state of present-moment mindfulness every morning, and then check into that state throughout the day.
- Make sure that you are always aware of your thoughts when they start to spiral into negative self-talk or complaining.
- Just practice bringing your mind back to notice whatever is around you, and calm your mental chatter.
- Take time to read a book.
- Create a cozy space in your house where you always go, and get lost in fiction or nonfiction, whatever you prefer.
- It’s such an important thing to take a break from electronic devices, and just read.
Rituals for Spirit
- Make sure that you spend time in nature as much as possible.
- Get outside with your bare feet on the earth and ground yourself by imagining a cord connecting the soles of your feet to the deep core of the earth.
- Take long baths with epsom salts and essential oils such as lavender, palo santo, or eucalyptus for cleansing your aura and connecting you to your intuition.
- Create a sacred space for your prayers and manifestation rituals in your home.
- Arrange your crystals, statues, or whatever it is that makes you feel that a space is sacred and designated for your spiritual insights.
- Remember to allow any more challenging feelings that arise for you in life to be felt deeply, letting them pass through you to be released.
- Try not to hold onto emotions of fear, anxiety, grief and sadness.
- Feel them, and let them go.
Rituals for Space
- Fill your house with lots of plants.
- They will cleanse the energy and purify the air in your home.
- Do a regular decluttering practice whereby you routinely clear out clothes, personal belongings, and objects that no longer feel aligned for you and give them away or throw them out.
- Create a sanctuary of space by diffusing pure essential oils into the different rooms of your house.
- Choose aromas such as sandalwood, frankincense, or lemon and lavender.
- Do regular smudging with sage, copal or palo santo to cleanse and purify the energy of your house and get rid of stagnant energy.
- It’s a great idea to do this right after you have had visitors, or any kind of tense conversation.
- It just helps to recreate the peace and harmony of your home and diffuse any lingering negativity.
