The holiday season can come with a lot of chaos and stress, but it doesn’t have to be that way.
When I’m feeling especially overwhelmed with all the holiday to-dos, I take a step back and think about setting a positive intention for the season.
This helps to keep me focused on what’s important as well as to remind me of all the joy this time of year brings us.
Plus, by reciting or writing down your intentions for the holidays, you’ll give yourself something tangible to thumb through when things start to get tough.
This holiday season is the perfect time to set intentions and manifest all that you wish for in the coming new year.
Take a moment to reflect on what you would like to achieve, or bring into your life in 2021, and think of ways in which you can make it happen.
Self-improvement can take many forms; from creating a plan for managing debt or sticking to a healthier diet, setting concrete, achievable goals will help you to focus and drive motivation throughout the season.
The winter months are notoriously difficult and long, but having something concrete to strive for will help to keep spirits high as we look ahead toward a brighter future.
Let me share with you some of the ways I set intentions for the holiday season.
1. Get your journal ready
Set aside some time to relax and simply write down what you would like to reflect on.
After that, take a few moments to think about what intention you would like to set for yourself.
It could something like ‘Be positive’ or ‘Be an abundance magnet’.
What matters is that the intention resonates with your values and motivates you to pursue something meaningful.
Setting an intention can help you cultivate patience during trying times, open yourself up to possibilities, or even overcome challenges without getting overwhelmed.
As the holidays are filled with joy and love, try being conscious of your intention and taking it out into the world every day, in whatever form words, or actions.
2. Beware of intention-sabotaging thoughts
Everyone has had moments of self-doubt when we seem to have set our intentions and goals but our thoughts constantly fill with negative ideas that prevent us from gaining momentum.
It’s not just a feeling – it can be a pattern of sabotaging behavior.
In cases like this, it helps to take a step back and assess the root of your doubts.
What could you do or learn that would help you move past these barriers and achieve your goals?
Taking the time to reflect on these questions gives you the opportunity to turn self-sabotage into true personal growth.
3. Go for It with All You’ve Got
Now that you’ve set yourself a goal and a plan for achieving it, it’s time to take real action!
Don’t hesitate – seize the moment and go for it with all you have.
Fear of failure can be very strong, but don’t let it dull your drive.
It’s time to learn, discover and create something amazing inspired by your intention.
Take risks and have faith in yourself to break down any barriers that stand in the way of realizing your dream.
Visualize success and take decisive steps to achieve it.
Now is your time to go out there and make a difference!
Are you ready to spice up your holiday season with new intentions?
